Three ways to receive Mounjaro without a Japanese address: delivery to your hotel, courier depot pickup, or in person on the spot

Mounjaro needs refrigeration, so every Japanese clinic assumes delivery to a domestic address. Here is how to receive it at your hotel or at a Yamato Transport depot, which of 17 clinics we could confirm, and what it actually costs.

When people try to get Mounjaro in Japan, the step that actually blocks them is not the consultation. It is where the medication gets delivered.

Mounjaro has to be kept refrigerated. Because of that, almost every online clinic in Japan is built around one assumption: refrigerated delivery to an address inside Japan. If you do not live here, that single line is the wall.

This page covers only how to get past it.

There are three ways to receive it

The one confirmed clinic works with Yamato Transport

Of the 17 clinics we survey, exactly one is confirmed to accept overseas residents and visitors: Megacli (Megami Clinic), confirmed on 5 September 2026.

On 29 October 2026 we confirmed how that clinic handles delivery:

  • It works with Yamato Transport
  • It can deliver to your accommodation (hotel) address
  • You can collect the parcel at a Yamato Transport depot

One caveat matters here. Megacli’s own website says only that the parcel is sent “to your home” by cool delivery. Accommodation delivery and depot pickup are not written on the site, so you need to state how you want to receive it when you apply. If you go by what the site says, you will be set up for home delivery.

Cost

DoseMedicationCool deliveryTotal (1 month)
2.5mg¥7,550¥2,200¥9,750
5mg¥16,300¥2,200¥18,500
7.5mg¥28,280¥2,200¥30,480

The consultation is free. Surveyed 29 October 2026, all figures tax included. Delivery takes same-day to a few days at the earliest.

We could not confirm the other 16

Those 16 official websites say neither that accommodation delivery is possible nor that it is not. We do not guess on your behalf and write “probably fine”, because if you are turned away after arriving, the trip is gone.

One clinic is explicit in the other direction. Nihonbashi Clinic states on its site that it does not ship to overseas addresses — receiving at a Japanese address is the premise.

Hotel or depot: how to choose

When both are available, the deciding question is who takes responsibility for refrigeration.

Delivery to your accommodation

  • Confirm before booking that the front desk will refrigerate a parcel
  • Confirm the delivery date falls before your check-out
  • Confirm that a redelivery, if you are out, can still happen during your stay

Collecting at a depot

  • The option when your accommodation will not refrigerate it
  • Time still passes while the parcel waits at the depot, so collect it as soon as you are notified
  • Check the depot’s location and opening hours in advance

Either way, pick whichever keeps the cold chain broken for the shortest time.

How to avoid delivery entirely

If you are seen in person, you receive the medication there and the delivery problem disappears. Four of the clinics we list also offer in-person consultations:

  • East Ekimae Clinic (Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Sapporo and others)
  • Mona Clinic (Tokyo, Osaka, Yokohama)
  • One Clinic Ebisu (Tokyo)
  • Clinique Osaka Shinsaibashi (Osaka)

But having a physical clinic and accepting overseas patients are separate things. Call or email before visiting. One Clinic Ebisu lists a Japanese health insurance card, driver’s licence or My Number card as acceptable ID; whether a passport can be used instead is not stated.

Taking it home with you

Taking medication out of Japan and bringing it into your own country are regulated separately. Quantity limits or declarations may apply, so check before you travel.

Nihonbashi Clinic issues an English-language prescription certificate. A consultation receipt can be used in its place free of charge; the formal certificate is ¥5,000 (tax included). Customs may ask for one, so it is worth knowing which clinics can provide it.

Storage on the way home is also refrigerated. Plan your flight time and a cooling method together.

If you are considering buying it online from abroad

Some people look at personal importing as a way to get it without coming to Japan. But medication obtained by personal import is not covered by Japan’s relief system if it harms your health. Quality and authenticity are not guaranteed either.

Summary

  • The blocker is not the prescription — it is an address that can receive a refrigerated parcel
  • The one confirmed clinic offers accommodation delivery and Yamato depot pickup (confirmed 29 October 2026)
  • Its website says only “sent to your home”, so state your preferred method when you apply
  • The other 16 are unstated and therefore unconfirmed; we do not write “possible” on a guess
  • Choosing an in-person consultation removes the delivery problem entirely (4 clinics)

Prices by dose are at Mounjaro prices by dose. Every figure carries the date we surveyed it.

Whether Mounjaro is prescribed is decided by a doctor. In Japan, using it for weight management is off-label use and is self-pay (not covered by public insurance).

Frequently asked questions

Can I receive Mounjaro in Japan without a Japanese address?

There is a way. The one clinic we confirmed accepts non-residents (Megacli) works with Yamato Transport, so it can deliver to your accommodation address or hold the parcel at a Yamato depot for you to collect. We confirmed this directly on 29 October 2026. The other 16 clinics state nothing about how non-residents receive the parcel, so we could not confirm them.

What should I check before having it delivered to a hotel?

Mounjaro must be kept refrigerated. Before you book, confirm that the front desk will refrigerate a parcel for you and that delivery will arrive before you check out. Delivery takes same-day to a few days at the earliest, so it has to fit inside your stay.

Is collecting it at a Yamato depot safer?

It is the option to use when your accommodation will not refrigerate the parcel. Time still passes while the parcel sits at the depot, so collect it as soon as you are notified that it has arrived.

What is the total cost to receive it?

At the one confirmed clinic, one month of 2.5mg is 7,550 yen for the medication plus 2,200 yen for refrigerated (cool) delivery, for a total of 9,750 yen. The consultation is free. Prices are as surveyed on 29 October 2026.

Is there a way to avoid delivery altogether?

Yes. If you are seen in person at a clinic, no delivery is involved. Four of the clinics we list also see patients in person. Having a physical clinic and accepting overseas patients are separate things, so contact them before visiting.
